A strategic decision to invest in plastic injection tool shop in 1985 turned out to be an ingenious move during the license raj saddled with several curbs on imports. Led by Jayantibhai Gandhi later fondly known as JM and Dharmendra Gandhi (DK), a wonderful Uncle and nephew duo, Mutual established itself as one of the pre-eminent companies which delivered a complete solution in plastics from design and mould development to mass production of components and modules.

As the capabilities grew, with technological investments and an inspired team of professionals in the field, Mutual advanced into providing engineered plastics’ solutions to the rising automotive industry in India.

In 1995, we became the first Indian tool shop to develop large injection moulds for bumper systems of a passenger SUV.

We haven’t looked back since.

With the joining in of the third generation of Gandhis in the early nineties, we grew and expanded into multi-location facilities over time. But we also felt the need to specialize further as our magnitude was weighing down our true potential.

Therefore, in 2018, Mutual Engineering Pvt. Ltd. (MEPL) was carved out from the Mutual group and hived off into an independently managed company through an ownership restructuring.

With renewed focus and experience from legacy, we became ready to fly.

Now Led by the next generation, Mr. Drumil Gandhi and a team of young enthusiastic minds, we are gearing up to be amongst the top three tooling and products solutions company in India, delivering to both the domestic and the global market.

A fully equipped tool shop supported by a Design engineering center, with end-to-end project management capability, we offer total tooling and developmental solutions to OEMs and Tier Ones.

We have the industry perspectives having been part of automotive plastics industry for around forty years serving Global and Indian Multi-nationals.
